“Hi Everyone, My name is Mindy and Im the Propriertor and Creative Director of Blueyedezines. I am blessed to have the most wonderful parents & In-laws God could’ve ever created. I am also married to the love of my life & soulmate Walter and we have one beautiful little boy Keanu and a Stepdaughter Geneva.

I began Scrapbooking when I was around eight years old. I would cut out my favourite pictures from catalogues and various magazines that Mum would buy, and stick them in my scrapbooks. I would then travel to my favourite store “Granny Mae’s” to buy as many different papers, pens and stickers I could find, that would co-ordinate with my pages.

Over time the scrapbooks evolved and contained pictures of my favourite singing and acting stars. My love for everything organized then became apparent as I then started to keep separate scrapbooks for individual things. One was for my favourite boy band (yes it was New Kids on the Block!!lol), one for my favourite actor (Alex P Keaton from Family ties…wasn’t he gorgeous) and one for stunning colours and design pictures of houses, homewares and all things beautiful.

Art has always been my creative outlet. I couldn’t make mistakes with my art. My art came from being inspired by something. I connected with my feelings and started to create.

Nearly Twenty five years later, I am still scrapbooking, only the scrapbooks have evolved yet again. These scrapbooks are priceless. They now contain pictures of my inspiring loved ones, all my family and friends, and a lifetime of memories.

When my grandpappy died four years ago I realized that there were a mountain of wonderful stories he took with him. We loved to sit with him and share his enthusiasm for “his rides on the old horse and cart, when there was only one road”…to his wonderful vintage style singing of a few bars of “daisy” or “I took my girl to a dance one night”. Our tummies would ache from laughing at all the antics he got up to in a world we could only ever have imagined.

Your stories are just as important. Scrapbooking ensures that these stories are never forgotten. We only have one life, its short so live it and love your art. Whether its basic or complex, vintage, shabby sheik or ultra modern. There are no rules…embrace it and create with passion. Your Great Great grand children will thankyou for it.
